Rosewood and Satinwood, carved elements. The cornice decorated with a carved faun’s head in a gilt acanthus cartouche.

Inlay work in the manner of André Charles Boulle. Gilt bronze applications.

The pair of doors with coromandel-panels.

Engraved signature: “A. H. Lippmann” to the lower right base.

At the world exhibition 1878 in Paris the brothers Alphonse and Heber Lippmann where honoured with the bronze medal. In 1865 the Lippman brothers took part at the “Exposition de l’union centrale des Beaux-Arts”.

 

This cabinet was produced after a model by André Charles Boulle, of the Louis XIV period which is exhibited in the “Louvre” Paris.
